RYUGEN TAIKO was formed by Nolan Miyahara in May 2014 as a not for profit 501(c)3 organization to truly promote and preserve Taiko in Hawaii.
Nolan Miyahara, former member of Hawaii Matsuri Taiko, and a proud Wahiawa native, has been playing Taiko for 29 years and counting. Nolan has had the honor to have worked with and been under the guidance of Taiko masters such as Grandmaster Seiichi Tanaka of San Fransisco Taiko Dojo, Kiyonari Tosha of Nihon Taiko Dojo, Kenny Endo of Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble, Etsuo Hongo of Los Angeles Matsuri Taiko, and PJ and Roy Hirabayashi of San Jose Taiko. Taiko is in Nolan’s blood and looks forward to passing on Taiko to future generations.
Ryugen Taiko will be performing at the Japanese Festival at 4:30pm and 6:55pm
